Local Businesses Encouraged to Participate as TDC Expands Promotions

The Franklin County Tourist Development Council (FCTDC) continues its promotion efforts this year with Visit Florida to create themed vacation packages for use in national promotions and giveaways. The promotion program, initiated last year with Visit Florida, involves the FCTDC assembling lodging, meals and activities together into themed vacation packages for use by Visit Florida in promoting Franklin County throughout the U.S through its national media and advertising outlets. The FCTDC recently agreed to expand the types of donations it will solicit this year to include things like restaurant meals and gift certificates from tourism-related businesses for use in building the national promotion packages. The FCTDC also agreed to enlist the help of the Visitor Centers in Apalachicola, St. George Island and Carrabelle to help get the word out about the county-wide promotions efforts. If you are a Franklin County lodging provider, restaurant or tourism-related activity business (such as fishing charter, eco-tour, kayak rental, etc) you can participate in the Franklin County promotions program by donating lodging, meals and activities. In return, your business name may be prominently displayed in national advertising and marketing materials. The FCTDC is currently seeking lodging, meals and activities which may be used as part of promotions to bring visitors to the area to stay in area accommodations, sample seafood in area restaurants and enjoy the clean beaches, coastal resources, events and activities of Franklin County.
Georgia Promotion Set to Launch Beginning in April, Franklin County will be featured in Visit Florida's ³Kidsville Spring Fling² family vacation promotion in North Georgia. The goal of that promotion is to introduce Franklin County to the Georgia family audience. The promotion will consist of a Franklin County trivia contest, newspaper ads, web-based marketing, and even a Franklin County presence on the Gwinnet county school system website. The media value of the campaign is valued at $104,000. How to Submit: Interested lodging providers, restaurants and tourism-related businesses should either phone the TDC office (850) 653-8678, or email info@anatural escape.com with a brief explanation of the type of service offered through your business.
