A precautionary boil water notice will be in effect today for a portion of the Plantation on St. George Island.
The St. George Island water company said the boil water notice is required because of work that is being done to the water main at the intersection of Jasmine Way and Leisure Lane.
The boil water notice will affect all water customers between Jasmine Way and the Bob Sikes Cut.
The water company advises that water be brought to a rolling boil for one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes.
The precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink.
If you have any questions or concerns you can contact water company manager Nita Molsbee at 927-2648.
