Project Impact to hold "Spring Bling" Holiday camp this week


Project Impact in Apalachicola is offering a holiday camp to keep local children busy during spring break.
The program called the Spring Bling Holiday Camp will be held from today through Thursday from 8am to 4pm each day at the old Apalachicola High School building.
Some of the activities planned for this week include a special arts program with the LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts from Tallahassee.
On Thursday the group will celebrate reading during a “Read Across Apalach” program.
Celebrity Readers including Mayor Van Johnson, City Clerk Marcia Johnson, Police Chief Bobby Varnes and County Commissioner Noah Lockley will read stories at several stops beginning at the Riverfront Park and ending at Battery Park.
Students will also be treated to a St. Patrick’s Day Party to celebrate the end of our Spring Bling week.
Other activities through the week will include gardening, cooking lessons, computers, and lots of sports and recreation..
Project Impact is open free of charge and is located at the city Municipal Complex in
Apalachicola on 14th street.
