The Franklin County Commission will discuss the hiring of a new CEO for Weems Hospital on Tuesday.
Current CEO Chuck Colvert has announced his retirement in the next three months.
The job of hiring a new CEO actually falls to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital under an agreement the county has with TMH, but commissioners will still have the final say.
On Tuesday the county commission will meet with the hospital advisory board to discuss the process of finding a new person.
The board will also open bids on Tuesday from companies interested in cleaning trash from local bridges.
The board is hoping find a local company that will clean trash from the Apalachicola, Carrabelle and St. George Island bridges 26 times a year for a total of 12,000 dollars.
Local health department chief Wesley Tice will attend Tuesday’s meeting to update the commission on activities at the Health Department.
The commission meetings are open to the public – tomorrow’s meeting begins at 9 o’clock at the Franklin County Courthouse Annex in Apalachicola.
