There will be a free fishing clinic for kids in Panacea this weekend.
The clinic is for kids under 16 and is designed to teach them about environmental issues, fishing ethics, fishing skills and safety.
In addition, environmental displays will provide kids with a unique chance to experience Florida’s marine life firsthand.
The clinic is free and there is no pre-registration needed.
All you have to do is take your kids to Wooley Park in Panacea on Saturday beginning at 9.
If your child already has fishing equipment you should bring that with you, and if not – Fishing equipment and bait will be provided for kids to use during the clinic.
A limited number of rods and reels will be given away to the kids after the clinic.
The clinic is being sponsored by the Fish and wildlife commission, the St. Marks Refuge, and the Florida Foundation for Responsible Angling.
