Emergency crews to train next week for overturned school bus

Local emergency officials will hold a training exercise this summer where they will have to deal with an overturned school bus.
The exercise will be held on Friday June 3rd at the large field north of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office on Highway 65.
Participants will include EMS, School Officials, local fire departments, Law Enforcement, Emergency Management and Weems Hospital.
The training class will be offered through the Emergency Management Office and should provide a realistic situation to train emergency responders for the worst.
A similar exercise last year which was based around a school shooting included nearly 35 local law enforcement and emergency response personnel as well as a cast of local students and teachers.
