Georgia man drowns off Shell Point
An 83 year old Georgia man drowned Saturday at Shell Point in Wakulla County.
The incident happened at about 2 Saturday afternoon.
Joseph H. Boggs of Griffin Georgia was fishing 300 yards off Shell Point Beach with 80 year old Charles A. Moss, also of Griffin, when Boggs complained of not feeling well.
Mister Boggs lost his balance and fell overboard.
Moss attempted to pull his friend out of the water and with the help of another boater, loaded Boggs into the Good Samaritan’s vessel.
Mister Boggs was determined to be deceased at the scene.
The investigation has been turned over to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
