Celebrate Father's Day with Florida State Parks

TALLAHASSEE - In honor of Father’s Day, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) Florida Park Service will offer 50 percent off day-use admission for any group that visits a state park with their Father on Sunday, June 19, 2011.

We are pleased to offer this special discount for state park visitors who take the time to honor their fathers this weekend,” said DEP’s Florida Park Service Director Donald Forgione. “If he is an outdoors person, history buff or would just enjoy some relaxation, a state park is the perfect place for a memorable Father’s Day.”

Florida’s state parks can offer Dad a rugged hiking or biking trail, plentiful fishing spots in fresh or salt water, a historic museum paying tribute to times gone by and shady spots or sunny beaches to throw the ball around. No matter what delights Dad the most, there is a wealth of opportunities for families to entertain and honor him during Father’s Day.

Give Dad the gift that keeps giving with a Florida State Parks Annual Entrance Pass. The family pass is good for up to eight individuals at almost any state park for an entire year at only $120. For the Dad that may need a break every now and then, the individual pass is just $60 for a year’s worth of hassle-free state park fun.

This discount is valid during regular park hours on Sunday, June 19, 2011 only and excludes Skyway Fishing Pier State Park.
