Eastpoint baseball player movin' on up

An Eastpoint baseball player is moving closer to the big leagues.
Pitcher Tyler Thornburg will be moving from the Class A Wisconsin in the Midwest League to the Advanced Class A Manatees in Florida.
The team announced the roster move last week to shore up the Florida State League team's inconsistent pitching for the season's second half and to give the promising pitcher exposure to a higher level of minor league baseball.
Thornburg was 7-0 with a 1.57 earned run average in 12 starts for Wisconsin.
He recorded 76 strikeouts and 25 walks.
Thornburg was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the third round in 2010 out of Charleston Southern University.
