FWC schedules speckled trout workshops in Tallahassee and Panama City


The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will meet in Tallahassee tonight and in Panama City tomorrow to discuss proposed changes to the state’s management plans for speckled trout.
The state is considering changes for for speckled trout management in the northeast, southeast and southwest regions of Florida where fishermen could see a reduction in closed months.
Fishermen in the southeast region could also see an increase to the bag limit.
The FWC will also discuss possible modifications to the commercial open season for speckled trout.
The closest meetings to Franklin County will be held today from 6 till 8 at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission building in Tallahassee and tomorrow from 6 till 8 at the Bay County Extension Center in Panama City.
