Gulf County Scallop festival seeks volunteers

The 2011 Florida Scallop Festival is looking for volunteers, vendors and sponsors.
People who are interested in helping with the event can contact the Gulf County Chamber of Commerce.
You can e-mail them at info@gulfchamber.org. with the Subject line  “I want to volunteer!”
You can also call them at calling us at 227-1223.
The chamber is looking for entertainers, bands, arts and crafts vendors and educational booths.
They are also looking for businesses who would like to have their name associated with the festival.
There is a July 1st deadline so you may want to contact the chamber soon.
The scallop festival will be held August 5th through the 7th in Port St. Joe – it celebrates Gulf County’s popular bay scallops.
This year they’ll have a little more to celebrate because the scallop season is going to be longer than usual.
Bay scallop season in St. Joe Bay will open a week early on June 25th and will end two weeks later than usual on September 25th.
