Phase 2 of alligator hunting permitting process starts this week

If you didn’t get an alligator hunting permit during the first phase of the permitting process, phase 2 is on the way.
Alligator harvest permits are issued during phase 2 on a first-come, first-served basis from June 8th through June 13th.
You can apply at any county tax collector’s office, at any retail outlet that sells hunting and fishing licenses and on-line at www.fl.wildlifelicense.com.
Anyone seeking an alligator harvest permit must be at least 18 years of age by August 15th.
A permit allows the harvest of two alligators on a designated area.
The cost for a resident alligator trapping license and alligator harvest tags is $272; nonresidents pay $1,022.
If permits are available after Phase II, the FWC will offer them during Phase III on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning June 15th.
