County commissioners voice concerns about activities at Eastpoint pavilion

County commissioners are concerned about some recent activities at the pavilion at the Eastpoint boat ramp.

Commissioner Bevin Putnal said he has been told that the site is frequented by people who are just drinking and accosting folks who are there to use the pavilion.

Mister Putnal said he has heard reports of people being asked for money and bothered in a number of other ways.

The county already has a rule banning drinking at the site but the board said the ordinance is no good without enforcement.

The county said it would like the sheriff’s department to patrol the area more often and start enforcing the drinking ban more strictly.

The board also agreed to install signs at the site warning people that drinking alcohol is not allowed.
