Unemployment in Franklin County remained stable between June and July.
Local unemployment was 7.9 percent – 433 people were out of work in the county both months.
At 7.9 percent Franklin County still had one of the lowest unemployment rates in the state; only 4 counties had unemployment rates lower than ours.
In Gulf County the unemployment rate fell slightly but still hovered above 10 percent for the second month in a row.
657 people were out of work in Gulf County in July.
Liberty County’s unemployment rose from 7 percent to 7.2 percent.
In Wakulla County unemployment dropped from 8.6 percent to 8.4 percent.
Over 1400 people were looking for work in Wakulla County last month.
Statewide, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained stable at 10.7 percent.
