Governor Rick has appointed James P. Norton of Port St. Joe as the Gulf County Superintendent of Schools.
He replaces Tim Wilder who resigned the job to become superintendent of the Dothan, Alabama school system.Mister Norton is a third-generation Gulf County resident who attended Gulf County schools from elementary through high school.
His professional career includes being the senior vice president and senior trust officer at Vision Bank since 2007.
He has also served as the senior vice president and director of business development for Coastal Community Bank and as president of the Gulf County Chamber of Commerce and of the Port St. Joe Lions Club.
He holds a master’s degree in education, from Troy State University and a law degree from Faulkner University Jones School of Law.
His appointment will continue until November 19th, 2012.
