Franklin County's Coastal Cleanup Day will be held Saturday, September 17. The local event is part of a larger national Coastal Cleanup movement and is a perfect opportunity for visitors and residents alike to do good for a good cause - the bountiful resources of Franklin County's coastal shoreline.

There are several staging areas throughout the county depending on where you want to pitch in and help. Click here to learn specific staging locations. The Apalachicola Riverkeeper organization is coordinating the countywide event. Click here to contact them for more information.

The Apalachicola Maritime Museum in Apalachicola will serve as a kayak launch site for one of the staging areas for volunteers who would like to do their Apalachicola cleanup by water via canoe or kayak.  Click here to link to other marinas and boat ramps where you can launch your boat in Franklin County.
