County commissioners are still waiting for
the signs to be put up at DW Wilson Park in Apalachicola
asking dog owners to keep their pets under control.
The board voted in August to have the
signs put in after commissioner Smokey Parrish received animal related
complaints from people who use the walking track at the park.
He said the complaints include people
letting their dog or many cases dogs run loose in the park.
Commissioner Parrish said requiring that
dogs be kept on leashes will everyone feel more comfortable when using the
park.
The County
Parks
and Recreation Department said the signs had to be ordered and will be
installed as soon as they get in.
