Here are a few things that have been
happening in and around the Dixie recently:
|
|
Join us in celebrating our 100th year beginning with our 15th Professional season which
starts January 6, please see entire schedule online. That's right, the Dixie was originally built in
1912 and opened in 1913. So...we get to celebrate for 2 years, we plan on having some fun with it...please come join us.

Leaky Roof FINALLY fixed!
|
|
In
July Blackfoot Roofing repaired our leaking roof and for the first time
in 13 years we
do not have to empty buckets filled with water from inside the Dixie
Theatre. We also have a guarantee that we won't have to do that for the
next 20
years...yippee!
In August, Rainbow International Flood, Mold and Fire specialists repaired all the damage
that has been caused over the past dozen or so years due to the leaking roof - yippee again!
We are very fortunate to have had these two special companies work with us on these
issues, a big thank you to them for jobs well done. Check them both out online here:

Recently
the Dixie Theatre was a host venue
for the 2011 Apalachicola Riverkeepers' Wild & Scenic Film Festival.
As always, the festival and the films were a delight. We were
particularly happy to be able to host the films under our beautiful new
ceiling so the only raindrops the attendees had to deal with were on
screen.
