Franklin County’s
legislative delegation will be in Franklin
County on Thursday afternoon to
hear from the public and from local government representatives.
The delegation, which includes state representatives Leonard
Bembry and Jimmy Patronis and State Senator Bill Montford, will be here to
discuss issues of interest to elected officials and the general public.
The hearings are valuable in making legislators aware of the
concerns and needs of Franklin
County before the new legislative session begins next March.
Generally the hearings also offer a chance for Franklin
County to request state money for
local projects, but the legislature won’t be taking county requests for money
this year again because of an tight state budget.
If you do plan to attend the legislative delegation hearing,
it will be held Thursday at 4 PM at
the Franklin County
Courthouse Annex in Apalachicola.
