RE:                  National and State Flags at Half-Staff

In memory and honor of those who died as a result of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and in observance of Patriot Day, the Governor hereby requests that all federal, state, county, and city government-owned buildings within the State of Florida fly the flags of the United States and the State of Florida at half-staff from sunrise until sunset on September 11, 2011.

The Governor also requests that a minute of silence be observed by all Floridians beginning at 8:46 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time on September 11, 2011, in memory of those who died as a result of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
