Alan Pierce has decided he is going to go to a few more county
commission meetings after all.
Mister Pierce on Tuesday told the county commission that he would like
to withdraw his proposed retirement.
Mister Pierce has worked for Frankklin County for 24 years.
He announced his retirement last November saying he has a number of
things he would like to accomplish in the hopes that his epitaph won’t read “
He went to a lot of meetings.”
Now, however, he says he has changed his mind and would like to keep
working.
He told the board that there are very few times where his personal and
private life collide but this was one of them.
Commissioner Cheryl Sanders pointed out that when he made the
announcement she did ask him three times if he was sure of his decision.
She added that the next time he gets ready to go – he had better go.
Sanders was the only commissioner to vote against allowing Mister
Pierce to continue working.
7 people had applied to take his job as Director of Admonsitrative
Services.
Those interviews have now been canceled.
