Franklin County Commissioners have signed off on a
10 thousand dollar landscaping grant that will pay for the county to do some
work near Lighthouse Park on St. George Island.
The grant will pay to place more palm trees in the
state owned right of way across the street from Lighthouse Park.
It will also allow the county to plant more native
grasses along the right of way of the median.
The money for the project will come through the
Florida Department of Transportation.
Commissioners said they will look to see if more grant
money is available to beautify state-owned intersections in other areas of the
county.
