County commissioners this week agreed to
take care of an oversight that was keeping their emergency management director
from getting her fair retirement.
Commission chairman Pinki Jackel said that
Emergency Management Director Pam
Brownell’s retirement was not being paid at the same level as other county
department heads even though Miss Brownell has been at her current job since
2008.
Commissioner Jackel said the issue “sort
of slipped by the board and needs to be fixed as soon as possible.”
The board agreed to elevate Miss
Brownell’s retirement to a senior management level – the change will take effect
as soon as it has been properly advertised.
