Local elections are closer than you
might think, so if you have not yet registered to vote you should do it soon.
There are less than 60 days left to
register to vote in the August 14th primary election.
The deadline to register is July 16th.
And if you live in Franklin County you should plan to vote this year as we could be choosing a clerk of
court, property appraiser, sheriff, school superintendent, elections supervisor
and tax collector – not to mention county commissioners for districts 1, 3 and
5.
There are also school board races for districts 1, 3 and 5 on the
ballot this year as well as county judge and some soil and water district
seats.
We’ll know exactly which offices will be up for grabs after the
qualifying period ends on June the 8th.
In
the meantime you can register at the County elections office at 47 Avenue F in Apalachicola or at the office on
Highway 98 in Carrabelle.
