Franklin County unemployment fell
in April for the 4th month in a row – giving Franklin County the 4th
lowest unemployment in the state.
Local unemployment fell from 6.5 to 6.1 percent with 345
people looking for work.
That’s down from 363 people looking for work in March.
April’s unemployment was also much better than a year
earlier when it was listed at 7.5 percent.
Gulf County’s unemployment also dropped from 8.6 to 7.9
percent.
473 people were looking for work in Gulf County in April.
In Wakulla County the unemployment rate fell from 7.4
percent to 7 percent, in Liberty County unemployment fell from 6.8 percent to 6.5
percent.
The Statewide seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 8.7
percent – down from 9 percent in March.
