Don't forget to register to vote - the deadline is Monday

Voter registration for the August 14th primary election ends on Monday so if you aren’t yet registered to vote you need to do it ASAP.

You can register at the County elections office at 47 Avenue F in Apalachicola or at the office on Highway 98 in Carrabelle.
Franklin County will elect a new sheriff this year – it’s the only county-wide office still up for grabs.
There are currently three candidates for that office, Cliff Carroll, Mike Mock and Jeff Vonier.
District 1 voters have two candidates vying for their county commission seat, current commission chairman Pinki Jackel will face Tony Shiver in that race.
The commission seat for District 3 is also up for grabs this year; incumbent Noah Lockley has two opponents, Valentina Webb and Wilmer Deason.
And district 5 voters will elect a county commissioner and a school board representative.
The county commission race is between incumbent Bevin Putnal and Hank Garrett and William Massey.
The school board race is between incumbent Carlton Whaley and Pamela Shiver.
