Early voting starts Saturday

Early voting for the August 14th primary election begins Saturday so if you want to avoid long lines at the polling station, you can vote early.

Early voting will be held August 4th through the 11th.

Voters will be able to go to the Supervisor of Elections office in Apalachicola or to the Carrabelle Annex between 830 and 530 Monday through Friday and from 830 to 230 on Saturdays and Sundays.

Voters can already request an absentee ballot if you would prefer to vote that way.

You can request an absentee ballot by calling 653-9520 or on-line at votefranklin.com.
Franklin County voters will elect a new sheriff this year – it’s the only county-wide office still up for grabs.
There are currently three candidates for that office, Cliff Carroll, Mike Mock and Jeff Vonier.
District 1 voters have two candidates vying for their county commission seat, current commission chairman Pinki Jackel will face Tony Shiver in that race.
The commission seat for District 3 is also up for grabs this year; incumbent Noah Lockley has two opponents, Valentina Webb and Wilmer Deason.
And district 5 voters will elect a county commissioner and a school board representative.
The county commission race is between incumbent Bevin Putnal and Hank Garrett and William Massey.
The school board race is between incumbent Carlton Whaley and Pamela Shiver.
