Federal government approves public assistance to 20 storm damaged Florida counties


The federal government on Monday approved Public Assistance for 20 counties due to the impacts of Tropical Storm Debby.
Public Assistance provides assistance for debris removal and emergency protective measures for public infrastructure. 
Franklin, Gulf, Wakulla and Liberty counties were all approved for Public Assistance.
Public Assistance comes in conjunction with the earlier approval of Individual Assistance for eleven Florida counties which included Franklin and Wakulla counties. 
Federal Individual Assistance makes federal and state assistance available to individuals and families.
Residents and business owners seeking individual assistance can begin applying by registering online at disasterassistance.gov, or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA.
