Petty Officer Second Class Michael J. Brodsky, of Tamarac, Florida, died on July 21, 2012, at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Landstuhl, Germany, of injuries sustained in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, while fighting in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  Petty Officer Second Class Brodsky was assigned to Navy Region Southwest Security Detachment, San Diego, California. 

By virtue of the power and authority vested in me by 4 U.S.C. § 7(m), as amended on June 29, 2007, and the laws and Constitution of the State of Florida, I, Governor Rick Scott, hereby proclaim and direct as follows:

The National and State flags at the Capitol in Tallahassee, Florida, shall be flown at half-staff on Saturday, July 28, 2012, in honor of Petty Officer Second Class Michael J. Brodsky.
