County
commissioners have started the process of choosing a company to provide debris
removal services after a major storm.
The
county feels that clean-up after a storm will be much quicker and easier if it
already has a contract with a firm that specializes in that type of work.
The
board last week opened qualifications from 9 companies interested in providing
the service.
The
qualifications will be considered by a committee made up of representatives of
the Franklin county Emergency Management office, the
road camp and the landfill.
The
committee will then make a recommendation to the county commission for final
action.
