Franklin County Dixie Youth Debs softball team on their way to World Series

The Franklin County Dixie Youth Debs softball team left for the Dixie Youth World Series in Virginia today.

The 12 girl team went undefeated during the state tournament and will now represent Florida in the world series in Powhatan, Virginia.

According to Parks and Recreation chief Nikki Millender, the girls managed to raise over 30 thousand dollars for the trip.

It’s a double-elimination tournament.

The girls’ first game will be on Saturday at noon against Powhatan – if they win they will either face the team from Alabama or Tennessee on Sunday.

The final game of the tournament will be on Wednesday, August the 8^th.
