Sacred Heart helping parents get health insurance for their children

If you have children without health insurance, Sacred heart may be able to help.

Children’s Hospital at Sacred Heart is assisting families with enrolling children under 19 in health insurance through Florida KidCare.

Florida ranks third in the U.S. for the number of uninsured children, with more than a half million kids without coverage.

Children who do not have health insurance often miss preventive care, such as immunizations, doctors’ visits, vision care and dental check-ups.

Sacred Heart has received a grant to provide one-on-one assistance to parents, grandparents and guardians in understanding their options and enrolling in the Florida KidCare program.

A community-health worker will also be available to help families in EscambiaSanta Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Gulf and Franklin Counties.

For information on getting the assistance in Franklin or Gulf counties you can call 1-877-787-1838
