The Commercial King Mackerel Trip Limit will be cut in the Northern West Coast Florida Subzone beginning on Thursday

The Commercial King Mackerel Trip Limit will be cut in the Northern West Coast Florida Subzone beginning on Thursday.

NOAA Fisheries Service will cut the daily commercial vessel trip limit to 500 pounds beginning 12:01 a.m. on August 30th.

The trip limit reduction is being implemented because 75 percent of the annual quota of almost 200 thousand pounds has been reached.

The 500-pound daily trip limit will remain in effect the quota is reached or through the end of the fishing year which is June 30, 2013, whichever occurs first.

This affected are is located in federal waters of the Gulf of Mexico east of the Alabama/Florida state line and along Florida's west coast to the Lee/Collier County line
