Resource Fair for Seafood Workers scheduled for Friday at Eastpoint Firehouse

The Gulf coast Workforce Center will hold a Resource Fair at the Eastpoint Firehouse on Friday from 9 till 5.

The event is for seafood workers and others who are impacted by the poor state of the oyster crop in the Apalachicola Bay.

The resource Fair will be a way for local people to see what assistance may be available to them and for local and state agencies to see what type of help local workers need.

Groups that are expected to attend the resource Fair include the Department of Children and Families, Gulf Coast State College, The Community Action Agency, and representatives from our legislative delegations.

Franklin’s Promise will also be on hand as will Eastern shipbuilding out of Gulf County which may be looking for workers.

Again, the resource Fair will be held tomorrow from 9 till 5 at the Firehouse in Eastpoint.
