A second resource fair was held today at the Eastpoint Firehouse to provide assistance and food to local seafood workers. The winter oyster crop in the Apalachicola Bay is in bad shape and that means many of our neighbors are struggling just to make ends meet. The resource fairs are a way for them to talk to the state and local agencies that might be able to help them with paying their bills or even just putting food on the table. Governor Rick Scott came to today's event to talk to local seafood workers and political leaders and get a first hand view of just how great the need is.
