Voter registration ends Tuesday - get signed up now!

There are five weeks to go before the general election, but there is just one more week to register to vote or update your registration.
Next Tuesday, October 9th, is the voter registration deadline in Florida so make sure to stop by the local election office before then.
There are only two local elections on the November ballot, District 1 voters will vote for a county commissioner; that race is between incumbent Pinki Jackel and Eastpoint resident Tony Shiver.
District 5 voters will also select a county commissioner between Hank Garrett and William Massey.
Besides the local races, there will also be a number of constitutional amendments on the ballot, and of course voters will be choosing a senator, congressman, and president.
The general election will be held on November 6th, but early voting will begin on October 27 and run through November 4th.
You can also vote using an absentee ballot which you can request online, by mail, by phone or in person.
To register to vote, or to pick up an absentee ballot, stop by the local elections office at 47 avenue F in Apalachicola.
