3rd annual Oyster Cook-off a big success

It was a beautiful day for the third annual oyster cookoff in Apalachicola. The sun was shining and the crowds turned out to raise money for the Apalachicola Volunteer Fire Department. There were 12 entries in this year's cook-off and as a judge I can tell you there were no bad dishes. The winning dish was an oyster and spinach casserole cooked by the Eastpoint Volunteer Fire Department and they deserved the trophy. Second place this year went to Rusty Hamlin, third place went to Kevin Maxwell. The people's choice award ( for most money earned by a group) went to the Owl Cafe'. Below are a few shots from today's event.
