FWC graduates 18 new officers; one is coming to Franklin county

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Division of Law Enforcement graduated 18 new officers on February the 1st, one of whom is bound for Franklin County.
This is the 19th officer class for the FWC.
Almost all of them are headed for other counties, except for Officer Robert ramos who some of you may get to know better than you like because he’ll be working the Apalachicola Bay with his field-training officer.
Officer Charles Mims will be finishing his training in Liberty County.
The new officers began their training last July in a number of fields including firearms proficiency, wildlife identification, vessel operation, defensive tactics, all-terrain vehicle operation, detection for boating and driving under the influence and of course state and federal wildlife and fisheries laws.
As FWC officers, they will patrol Florida’s lands – nearly 54,000 square miles of it – as well as Florida’s nearly 6,000 square miles of water.
