Sacred Heart to Provide Free Health Screenings in March




During March, Sacred Heart Health System will provide free heart-health screenings in Pensacola, Cantonment, Port St. Joe and Gulf ShoresAla., and free bone-density screenings in Pensacola and Pace. 
Heart-health screenings measure blood pressure, blood sugar and total cholesterol and to screen for anemia. These screenings are helpful in diagnosing conditions that put people at high risk for heart attack, stroke, diabetes and other health problems. Bone-density screenings aid in the detection of osteoporosis. 
Following is the March schedule for the Mission in Motion staff:
  • March 4 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit, 10650 Gulf Beach Hwy., Pensacola. Bone-density screenings only.
  • March 6 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church, 6495 Lillian Hwy.Pensacola. Heart-health screenings.
  • March 7 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Westminster Village, 1700 N. “L” St., Building 3, Pensacola. Heart-health screenings.
  • March 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Gulf, 3801 E. Hwy. 98, Port St. Joe. Total cholesterol and blood-sugar screenings.
  • March 20 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Alternative Health Food Store, 5533 Hwy. 90, Pace. Bone-density screenings only.
  • March 21 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Monica’s Episcopal Church, 699 S. Hwy. 95A, Cantonment. Heart-health screenings.
  • March 23 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Sonlight Christian Center6516 W. Jackson St., Pensacola. Heart-health screenings.
  • March 26 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 309 E. 21st Ave.Gulf ShoresAla.Heart-health screenings.
            During the month of March, Sacred Heart's Mission in Motion staff will continue to work to enroll children in the Florida KidCare health-insurance program for income-eligible families of children from birth to age 18.
