Minimal flooding expected on the Apalachicola River


The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a flood warning for the Apalachicola River that affects Calhoun, Franklin, Gulf and Liberty counties.

The flooding will be very minimal.

Flood stage for the Apalachicola River is 15 feet – the river is expected to rise to 15.4 feet at Blountstown this afternoon and fall below 15 feet again late this evening.

It will take a few days for the high water to move into Franklin County.

All persons with interests along the river should monitor the latest forecasts and take any precautions necessary.

Do not drive cars through flooded areas.
