The
National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a flood
warning for the Apalachicola River that affects Calhoun,
Franklin, Gulf and Liberty counties.
The
flooding will be very minimal.
Flood
stage for the Apalachicola River is 15 feet – the river
is expected to rise to 15.4 feet at Blountstown this afternoon and fall below
15 feet again late this evening.
It
will take a few days for the high water to move into Franklin County .
All
persons with interests along the river should monitor the latest forecasts and
take any precautions necessary.
Do
not drive cars through flooded areas.
