County Park on St. George Island now Boy Scout Troop 22 Regatta Park

The county park on 9th street on St. George Island now has an official name.

On Tuesday the county commission voted to name the park the “Boy Scout Troop 22 Regatta Park.”

There will be a dedication of the Park and its new pavilion on Saturday.

The Park will now be the permanent location for the annual Troop 22 Sailing Regatta.

The pavilion was built by volunteers from Galloway Construction.

County commissioners also agreed to recognize troop leader Larry Hale with a resolution of appreciation for all of his civic works.
