One-year-old Eastpoint child killed by car

Local families are mourning the loss of a one year old Eastpoint boy today.

Kelly Shiver was killed in a tragic accident after walking behind the right front tire of a GMC Sierra that was backing out of a private driveway on Russell Road in Eastpoint.

The Highway Patrol said the car’s driver, 25 year old Jessica Davis of Eastpoint, did not see the child.

The accident happened just after 3:30 Tuesday afternoon.
