Franklin county Commission rezones 26 lots in Lanark Village

County commissioners this week approved the rezoning of 26 lots in Lanark Village.

The lots, which are on the old Camp Gordon Johnston parade grounds, were rezoned from R1 to R2.

Both are residential zonings, but R2 allows for smaller homes and for mobile homes.

There was no public opposition to the plan.

Commissioners said the change would hopefully lead to more homes which would increase the local tax base.
