Freshwater fishing is free in Florida on saturday

You won’t have to have a fishing license to go freshwater fishing in Florida on Saturday.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission scheduled the third of four license-free recreational fishing days for this weekend.

License free fishing days are an invitation for people to try out fishing in the hopes they’ss begin doing it more regularly.

Even though you won’t need a license for freshwater fishing on Saturday all other bag limit, season and size restrictions apply.

To help celebrate the free freshwater fishing this Saturday, FWC staff will be at several boat ramps and docks talking with the public about fishing.

Today, FWC staff will hold a dockside outreach at the boat ramp at Lanark Village.
