TDC opens grant program for local non-profit groups

The grant cycle for local non-profits groups interested in applying for Franklin County Tourist Development Council marketing assistance opened on June 13th.

The deadline to apply for the grants is June 30th, so local groups are encouraged to fill out an application online at saltyflorida.com/grants as soon as possible.

This year’s marketing program differs from the past.

Beginning this fall, non-profit groups looking to the TDC for help in promoting their events will no longer get TDC money directly but instead be added into a marketing pool that would combine event promotion funds with funds used to promote the Franklin County brand.

The TDC says this will enable local organizations to benefit from the full marketing resources of the TDC instead of the previous grant program that parceled out small allocations to individual groups for marketing.

The TDC said it expects the plan will allow us to make bigger ad buys and reach more people than would be possible from individual grant promoters working with small advertising budgets.

If non-profits choose to forgo the marketing pool package, groups may still apply for small $500 stipends from the TDC.

Again, if you plan to apply for the TDC grants, you need to do so before June 30th at saltyflorida.com/grants.
