Tropical Storm Andrea
Currently 140 miles SSE of Apalachicola moving 15 mph
Possible expected winds from 50-60 mph with
gusts up to 65 mph
Landfall is expected this evening between 5:00-8:00 PM between Taylor & Dixie County
Storm surge at Alligator Point expected to be
2 feet above normal tide, still under flash flood warning
Residents should be cautious of fallen trees
and power lines
Sheriff’s Officials have deputies monitoring
Yent’s Bayou and Alligator Point for washed out roads
No plans at this time to close the bridges
however if winds reach sustained 45 mph, bridges will be closed
Franklin County Parks & Recreation are
flying double red flags on the island today to encourage guests and residents
to stay safe
