The board had applied for money to replace the
lighting at two local parks but found out that they had received enough money
for only one park.
Under the grant the LED lights will have to be
installed by August 31st which doesn’t give the county much time to
get the work done.
Commissioners agreed Tuesday to forgo the county’s
usual advertising process and instead contact all local licensed electricians
for bids.
They hope to open bids and award the project at
their meeting on July the 16th.
Commissioners said if there was any money left
over after the work at Vrooman Park is complete that will try to put new lights
on at least one field at DW Wilson park in Apalachicola.
