Franklin County commission meets Tuesday in Apalachicola

Franklin County commissioners will address three major projects when the board meets tomorrow in Apalachicola.

The County Commission will open bids from companies to build a multi-use path from Carrabelle beach to the Crooked River Lighthouse.

The 450 thousand dollar project is being funded through a state grant.

The commission will also open bids for plumbing repairs at the county jail.

The county has will hire a contractor to replace about 50 valves in the system.

The County will also choose an electrician to install energy efficient lighting at Vrooman park in Eastpoint.

Under the grant the LED lights will have to be installed by August 31st so the county is in a rush to get the project started.

The board on Tuesday will also discuss renewing its agreement with the Gulf Coast Workforce and will hear an update on activities at Weems memorial Hospital.


County Commission meetings are open to the public, so if you would like to attend tomorrow’s meeting it begins at 9 at the Franklin County courthouse Annex in Apalachicola.
