Governor recognizes district teachers of the year

A numbers of area district teachers of the year were recognized by Governor Rick Scott last week.

The governor presented the Shine award to 23 District teachers of the year, including Franklin County’s district teacher of the year, Laura King.

Miss King is a 4^th grade teacher at the Franklin County school.

The governor also recognized Jodie Martin from Medart elementary school and Samantha Newsome from Liberty County.

The Governor’s Shine Award was created to highlight teachers who go above and beyond the call of duty in pursuit of educational excellence.
