No swimming advisories in Franklin county; one in Wakulla

There are no swimming advisories in Franklin County.

The Florida Department of Health tested water quality at 5 Franklin County beaches on September the 30th; all of the samples came back clean.

The last results released for Wakulla County were also taken on September 30th and a swimming advisory was issued for Mash’s Island because of high enterococcus bacteria concentrations in the water there.

Moderate concentrations of enterococcus were also found at Shell Point but there was no swimming advisory issued for that beach.

The state currently takes weekly or bi-weekly water samples from 304 beaches in 34 counties – you can see results for all beaches in Florida on-line at the Florida Department of Health Clean beaches website.
